Lead discovered in Miami Valley Hospital water

Morgan Haefner -

Ohio Environmental Protect Agency officials put Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton on notice after finding high levels of lead in its water, the Dayton Daily News reported.

Officials found the lead in the hospital's southeast addition water during routine testing Friday. Patients and employees were notified over the weekend.

Tests from Dayton's water distribution system did not contain detectable levels of lead, according to Dayton Daily News. The hospital is using bottled water as the Ohio EPA and City of Dayton continue testing.

It is unknown what caused the contamination.
