Bowling Green, Ky.-based TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital has wrapped construction on a $4.1 million renovation that will expand its cardiac catheterization suite, ABC affiliate WBKO reported Aug. 22.
The renovation added 1,732 square feet and a second cardiac catheterization lab. The second lab also features augmented reality imaging equipment, making it the first hospital in Kentucky to use this equipment.
"Our new cardiac catheterization lab is a major investment for the hospital and for our community," Mike Sherrod, CEO of TriStar Greenview, told the news station. "People living in Bowling Green and its surrounding area deserve easy access to top-quality cardiac services, and we are proud to equip our cardiac teams with advanced technology that elevates the level of cardiac care available in our region."
The expansion will allow for several new cardiac services the hospital plans to offer, including angioplasty, defibrillator and pacemaker placement or revision, and cardiac ablation procedures.
