Essentia Health plans $20M expansion project

Essentia Health will undergo a $20 million expansion project at its Fargo, N.D., campus, according to Inforum.

The project represents the second phase of the hospital's expansion efforts. Last year, Essentia Health completed a $50 million expansion project, adding a new wing to the facility and boosting the bed count to 133.

In the second phase of the expansion, Essentia Health plans to raise the bed count by another 20 to 30 beds. The project includes the construction of a progressive care unit to house patients leaving intensive care and a short stay unit for clinicians to observe patients before deciding to admit them, according to the report.

The hospital also plans to expand radiology services and the neonatal intensive care unit, as well as build more labor, delivery and post-partum patient rooms.

The project, still in the design stage, is slated for completion in late 2019.
