CarePoint CEO hopes to turn Christ Hospital into 'medical city'

Achintya Moulick, MD, the CEO of Bayonne, N.J.-based CarePoint Health System, said he hopes to one day turn the parking lots surrounding its Hoboken, N.J.-based Christ Hospital into a "medical city," nj.com reported Feb. 6.

Christ Hospital is the only land that the nonprofit health system owns. The "medical city" would feature surrounding hubs that feed into the main hospital.

"We want to develop this area into a healthcare hub for New Jersey because this is a very prominent place," Dr. Moulick told nj.com. "It's in a very prominent area going into the Holland Tunnel."

Nj.com noted that the idea is still in the brainstorming phase and that Dr. Moulic is currently focused on the system's newfound status as a nonprofit.
