Biomedical services: Four ways CME Corp can extend your healthcare system

Biomedical departments are stretched thin within many healthcare systems across the country, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As healthcare systems expand outside the four walls of an existing hospital, biomedical departments are required to do more with less. From maintaining current equipment and performing incoming inspections on new equipment, to keeping up with compliancy standards, many biomedical departments are overwhelmed.

CME Corp has a crew of trained Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) positioned throughout the US to supplement and support your Biomed staff to meet your growing needs.  We have solutions in the following areas:

Start-Up Biomedical Services for New Construction Projects

CME can augment your staff and make sure your new facility opens on time.  Our menu of services include installation, documentation and cataloging, performing the appropriate electrical safety checks, functionality tests, battery and output measurement tests, and affixing asset ID tags, all according to your hospital’s guidelines.

Special Projects’ Biomedical Needs

Biomedical departments are now being asked to assist in many different “special” projects, over-taxing even the most efficient departments who already have a full schedule of preventive maintenance activity within the healthcare system.  CME has the expertise to assist in a variety of projects including inventory validation for software conversions, old equipment appraisal, hardware integration, cable management, and the assembly and installation of new IT arms and workstations on wheels to name a few.  Some projects involve us for a few days, others a few weeks, and we are always ready for extraordinary demands.

Preventive Maintenance and Repairs

CME maintains over 100,000 pieces of medical equipment in a variety of settings from clinics, surgery centers, nursing homes, cancer centers, and hospitals.  We employ trained BMETs who are equipped with state-of-the-art test equipment and a data-driven CMMS system for optimal diagnosis.  We work hand-in-hand with your biomedical department, adhering to your specifications and documentation guidelines.

Manufacturer Support Services

CME works with a variety of manufacturers to extend their own suite of service solutions.  One such manufacturer is Metro, the world’s leading manufacturer of medical storage and transport equipment.  CME is one of the few on-call organizations certified and trained to repair and reconfigure Metro carts.

Recently, a major healthcare system in Florida had three aging carts that were not locking correctly and needed to be repaired ASAP.  Our Florida-based biomedical technician was dispatched to the site, replaced the cart’s chassis, uninstalled the locking motors, and installed replacement motors to allow the carts to function properly.  CME was able to acknowledge the request for service on the same day, and once the necessary parts had arrived, CME was able to complete all services within three days and within one trip.  This allowed us to maintain our 100% scorecard rating with Metro

With timely service and efficient processes, the partnership between distributors & manufacturers is a significant aspect of the customer experience.  In every instance, customers benefit.

CME Corp is a distributor that focuses on medical equipment only. Our mission at CME is to help healthcare facilities nationwide reduce the total cost of the equipment they purchase and make their equipment specification, installation, maintenance, and disposition processes more efficient.
