Fairhope, Ala.-based Thomas Hospital wrote a letter to Rep. Jerry Carl seeking federal funding for a 30-bed expansion, local CBS affiliate WKRG reported March 21.
The hospital is also working with Mayor Robin LeJeune to help secure funding for the expansion, which the hospital says is needed to accommodate the growing population.
Thomas Hospital currently has 189 beds.
