The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.

1. Nicklaus Children's Hospital buys campus of former Miami hospital for $88M
Miami-based Nicklaus Children's Hospital purchased the campus of the former Miami Medical Center for $88 million.

2. Lynchburg unveils $8M community health clinic
Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health, the Free Clinic of Central Virginia and the Lynchburg Community Access Network opened the Lynchburg Community Health Center Tuesday.

3. El Camino Hospital budgets $398M for multipart construction project
El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., is investing $398 million in a multipart construction project to upgrade its campus.

4. Winner Regional Healthcare Center invests in $23M expansion
Winner (S.D.) Regional Healthcare Center is adding 28,000 square feet in a $23 million expansion project.

5. Twin Cities hospital plans to open birth center by 2020
Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., is seeking approval from the medical center's board of directors to build a birth center on its campus after two Twin Cities hospitals recently closed maternity units.

6. Las Vegas hospital breaks ground on $130M expansion
Las Vegas-based Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center broke ground Dec. 29 on a $130 million expansion.

7. Methodist Health System to build 11th hospital
Dallas-based Methodist Health System is planning to build a new facility in Midlothian, Texas — its 11th hospital.

8. Providence Health partnership plans 85-bed psychiatric facility
Olympia Behavioral Health, a partnership between Olympia, Wash.-based Providence St. Peter Hospital and Kirkland, Wash.-based Fairfax Behavioral Health, is planning to build an 85-bed psychiatric hospital in Lacey, Wash.

9. MetroHealth to open 2 hospitals in $25M renovation
Cleveland-based MetroHealth System is opening two hospitals next week as part of a $25 million renovation.
