6 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.

1. WellSpan York Hospital completes $50M ED project
WellSpan York (Pa.) Hospital completed its $50 million emergency department renovation. The 54,000-square-foot project began in summer 2014.

2. Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital completes $2.8M ED, inpatient unit
Aspirus Ontonagon (Mich.) Hospital completed its 8,200-square-foot emergency department and inpatient unit project.

3. Methodist South to launch ICU renovation project
Methodist South in Memphis, Tenn., will begin renovating its 16-bed intensive care unit this summer, according to the Memphis Daily News.

4. Virtua moves closer to building $1B hospital
Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua Health received approval from a state health planning board to pursue its proposed $1 billion hospital complex in Westampton, N.J., Philly.com reports.

5. Partners HealthCare inks wind power contract in push to go green by 2025
Boston-based Partners HealthCare signed a deal with a New Hampshire wind farm to help the health system achieve its goal of receiving 100 percent of its power from non-carbon sources by 2025, according to the Boston Business Journal.

6. Lovelace Medical Group to open new clinical facility
The Lovelace Medical Group — an arm of the Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System — will open a two-story clinic in Albuquerque April 17.
