6 hospitals buying land for expansions

Below are six hospitals that recently purchased or announced plans to buy plots of land for expansions, as reported by Becker's Hospital Review:

1. Orlando Health to buy 80 acres for medical campus
Orlando (Fla.) Health plans to buy 80 acres of land in Lakeland, Fla., to build a medical campus with a 360-bed hospital.

2. AdventHealth buys 103 acres in Florida
Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has purchased nearly 103 acres of land for expansion in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

3. IU Health buys 137 acres in Fort Wayne
Indiana University Health Fort Wayne has purchased 137 acres of land in Fort Wayne, paving the way for a new inpatient facility.

4. UHS hospital acquires 35 acres in Florida
Wellington (Fla.) Regional Medical Center, owned by for-profit hospital operator Universal Health Services, has acquired 35 acres of land in Florida for $12.3 million. 

5. Orlando Health buys more land in Central Florida
Orlando (Fla.) Health, a $3.4 billion nonprofit provider, has purchased more land in Central Florida.

6. Intermountain scoops up land in Las Vegas
Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare paid nearly $19 million for a plot of land in Las Vegas.
