5 hospitals planning upgrades, expansions

Five hospitals or health systems that announced, started or completed construction projects in the last week:

1. Advocate Aurora Health's Wisconsin expansion plan advances
Advocate Aurora Health's plan to build a $228 million hospital and medical center in Mount Pleasant, Wis., has advanced after a planning commission approved the proposal.

2. UCHealth opens 74-bed hospital in Highlands Ranch
Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth opened its 74-bed Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Hospital to patients June 18.

3. Tower Health, Drexel University break ground on medical school
Tower Health and Drexel University began construction of a medical school that will sit on a 150,000-square-foot campus in Wyomissing, Pa.

4. Brigham and Women's announces $250M expansion
Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston plans to build a $250 million expansion, including a five-story inpatient building.

5. HealthAlliance can build 175-bed hospital, New York says
Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley received approval from the New York State Department of Health to build a 175-bed hospital in Kingston.
