5 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade, reopen or renovate their facilities. 

1. New $27.7M critical access hospital to open in Louisiana
St. Francisville, La.-based West Feliciana Hospital will open a new $27.7 million critical access hospital in St. Francisville next week. 

2. UPMC Altoona completes $6.8M cancer center expansion
UPMC Altoona (Pa.) finished a $6.8 million project to expand its cancer services at the hospital's UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.

3. Rapid City Regional Hospital completes first phase of $200M expansion project
Regional Health Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital completed phase one of its $200 million expansion project.

4. Texas hospital reopens after 3-year closure
The former Cleveland (Texas) Regional Medical Center, shuttered three years ago, reopened Aug. 16 as Texas Emergency Hospital.

5. University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center seeks architect for $250M hospital
Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center's governing board voted Aug. 15 to hire an architect to start designing a new hospital, expected to cost up to $250 million.
