Former IBM Watson exec Bryson Koehler joins Equifax as CTO: 3 things to know

Equifax appointed Bryson Koehler chief technology officer, the consumer credit reporting agency confirmed June 14.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Koehler:

1. Mr. Koehler most recently served as CTO of IBM Watson and Cloud Platform, where he led a global team of cloud engineers, architects and security professionals.

2. Prior to his role at IBM, he served as chief technology and information officer at The Weather Channel Companies, which was acquired by IBM in 2015. Under his leadership, TWCC migrated from 13 legacy data centers into a fully cloud-based company.

3. As Equifax's CTO, Mr. Koehler will oversee the company's global IT strategy and work with the company's product, data and analytics teams. He will report to Equifax CEO Mark Begor.

"The world of [artificial intelligence] is unlocking massive potential in how data can be used, and cloud-based AI technology is a game changer for developing secure and reliable data-driven products," Mr. Koehler said in a June 14 statement.
