EEOC investigates Uber gender bias claim

Uber has faced accusations of gender discrimination since early 2017, and is being formally investigated by the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, according to Engadget.

A female former Uber employee wrote a blog post in February 2017 outlining the culture of gender discrimination at Uber, and since August 2017 the EEOC has been interviewing current and former Uber employees about pay gaps, hiring practices and other related issues.

Reports of the EEOC investigation comes days after Liane Hornsey  stepped down as the company's human resources chief amid allegations that she downplayed racial discrimination complaints.
