Amazon, Best Buy join forces to sell smart TVs

Amazon and Best Buy are teaming up to sell TVs powered by Amazon's Fire TV operating system.

U.S. customers will be able to purchase the first Fire TV Edition smart TV from Toshiba beginning this summer, and additional models from Toshiba and Insignia will be released later in 2018. The TVs will be sold in Best Buy stores and on its website, and Best Buy will be the exclusive merchant of these TVs on Amazon.com.

"Amazon and Best Buy have a long history of working together, and today we take our partnership to a new level," Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos said. "These Fire Edition smart TVs by Insignia and Toshiba deliver beautiful visuals and all the movies and TV shows you love, with an experience that gets better every day with Alexa. We could not have a better partner in this endeavor."
