Here are five things to know:
1. The academic health system will start offering the technology to its ambulatory providers in late February, with a phased rollout across the U.S. over the next several months, according to a Feb. 19 press release.
2. Ambience records patient appointments then generates comprehensive medical notes — which providers must review and approve — as well as customized after-visit summaries.
3. Patients are notified before the AI platform is used and can opt out.
4. Cleveland Clinic said it conducted a “rigorous” pilot program of AI ambient solutions in 2024, evaluating them across over 80 specialties and subspecialties. Clinicians reported less burnout, more face-to-face patient interactions and detailed notes that improved care coordination.
5. Ambience is among the players in the growing ambient AI sector in healthcare, alongside such companies as Abridge, Microsoft’s Nuance and Nabla.
