UnitedHealthcare, Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance to collaborate

Emily Rappleye -

UnitedHealthcare announced plans to give 52,000 UnitedHealthcare members with employer-sponsored plans access to the Dallas-based accountable care organization Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance.

BSWQA is a 3,800-physician ACO with 46 hospitals and post-acute care facilities, established in 2011. Through the new partnership, UnitedHealthcare members with employer-sponsored plans will be able to access accountable care services at BSWQA facilities, which includes care coordination, disease management, preventive health services, health information exchange and data analytics. UnitedHealthcare will provide BSWQA with actionable data on the patient population to help drive quality improvement and care coordination.

This is one of 250 new accountable care programs UnitedHealthcare pledged to launch this year.
