Aetna, Emory Healthcare to partner on accountable care

Emily Rappleye -

Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare and Aetna announced plans last week to form a new accountable care organization to improve care coordination and delivery.

The ACO aims to improve health outcomes and create a more coordinated patient experience for Aetna members who receive care from physicians in the Emory Healthcare Network. As a shared savings model ACO, providers stand to earn in savings by meeting specific quality and efficiency benchmarks.

Emory and Aetna have partnered on a patient-centered medical home since 2011.
