Dignity Health, Anthem have 30 more days to negotiate contract

San Francisco-based Dignity Health and Anthem tacked on 30 days to their negotiations to keep the system's California hospitals and physicians in Anthem's network, Dignity Health told Becker's Hospital Review.

Dignity and Anthem have until Aug. 13 to resolve negotiations. Anthem members can access Dignity Health services and physicians at in-network rates during the extension period.

"Dignity Health understands that continuity of care and access to healthcare providers are important to patients, physicians, and employers in the communities we serve, and we apologize for any concern or confusion this has caused," Dignity Health said in an emailed statement to Becker's. "Our organizations have a long history of working together and have every reason to believe we will reach agreement."
