Question: What is the most underrated trait of the best leaders?
Ray Lowe: Servant Leadership – teams across the organization are pushed to come up with innovative solutions in hours and as leaders, we need to be aware that we are constantly serving others. This includes our front line, patients and all that we come in contact with.
Q: What is one bold goal that you, your team or your organization is staring down for 2021?
RL: Mobile-first strategy for the delivery of healthcare to the patients via their Mobile device. The delivery of primary care has changed and we must ensure patients receive the best care, in the right setting, and at the right time by the right team leveraging tele-technologies and traditional care models.
Q: What fundamentals would you encourage your peers to revisit and refine when it comes to health IT and revenue cycle management?
RL: Many organizations have significant technical debt in their core technologies. They need to review a back to a basic overhaul of their technology and systems while balancing the strategic view of transformational healthcare for patients. Complete a risk analysis in technology, operations, applications and there are no sacred cows. If you’re doing the same thing you were doing 10 years ago, you’re likely doing it wrong.
