Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). As a Boston-based Partners Healthcare institution, Massachusetts General Hospital is involved in many systemwide efforts to conserve water, recycle dinnerware and biodegradable garbage liners, and collaborate with local vendors and farmers markets. MGH also participates in all six HHI Challenges and a citywide sustainability program — a joint effort by Health Care Without Harm and Boston Green Ribbon Commission's Health Care Working Group. As part of the Boston initiative, MGH reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent in 2014. The Lunder Building located at the heart of MGH's main campus is a LEED Gold-certified building.
