Gregory Thompson, MD. CMO and Director of Medical Education of Gundersen Health System (La Crosse, Wis.). Dr. Thompson is responsible for Gundersen Health System's medical staff and medical education as the nonprofit health system's director of medical education and CMO. The health system's 325-bed teaching hospital includes a level 2 trauma and emergency center, and is designated the western academic campus for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Thompson spent 20 years practicing pulmonary medicine and critical care at Gundersen before being named CMO in 2013 and director of medical education in 2014.
