Ochsner Medical Center (New Orleans). Ochsner Medical Center, a 473-bed hospital, features the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center. Ochsner is a member of the Louisiana Cancer Consortium, which has a mission to promote education and conduct research into diagnosis, detection and treatment of cancer. The cancer center also has a research relationship with New Orleans-based LSU Health Sciences Center. This year, CareChex ranked Ochsner Medical Center as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cancer care.
