Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, Ill.). In 2014-15, U.S. News & World Report ranked Loyola University Medical Center the No. 3 hospital in Illinois and also nationally ranked four of the hospital's specialties. The hospital has also been identified as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2009.

LUMC is home to the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital, Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine, Burn Center as well as a Level I trauma center and an outpatient center on its 61-acre campus. The Burn Center treats approximately 600 patients annually in the hospital and 3,500 patients annually in its clinic, making it one of the busiest burn centers in the Midwest.

LUMC is the teaching hospital for Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, where hospital physicians serve on the school's faculty. The hospital is firmly rooted in its Jesuit Catholic identity, inspired by the vision of St. Ignatius of Loyola, which encourages healthcare and education to care for the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
