Florida Hospital Orlando | 100 Great Hospitals in America 2015

Florida Hospital Orlando. Florida Hospital Orlando's history dates back more than 100 years when it was a small, two-story farmhouse turned into a medical facility. Now, it is part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System and the more than 2,000-bed Florida Hospital system.

Florida Hospital Orlando is ranked nationally by U.S. News and World Report in 10 adult specialties and as No. 1 in Florida and the Orlando metro area for 2014-15.

The hospital is becoming part of Health Village, a 172-acre $300 million mixed use planned community. Health Village, when it is completed, will include hospital facilities, medical office space, general office space, retail space and apartments, geared specifically toward employees. It is already home to the hospital's Diabetes Institute. Florida Hospital for Women, a 12-story hospital set to be open later this year, will have 332 beds and 14 labor and delivery suites, among other amenities. Developing the Health Village is part of Florida Hospital's mission to keep people living a healthy life in a healthy community.
