Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Established in 1883, Cincinnati Children's, a nonprofit academic medical center, is one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the country. It offers comprehensive clinical services, from treatments for rare and complex conditions to well-child care.

Cincinnati Children's achieved national rankings in all 10 pediatric specialties examined by U.S. News & World Report in its 2014-15 rankings of best children's hospitals. It is ranked No. 3 overall among U.S. children's hospitals. The hospital is also Magnet-recognized for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

With nearly 600 registered beds, Cincinnati Children's had more than 1.1 million patient encounters and served patients from all 50 states and 53 countries in fiscal 2013. Through an academic affiliation dating to 1926, Cincinnati Children's makes up the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The hospital trains more than 600 residents and clinical fellows per year in various pediatric specialties and offers some of the most highly ranked research-based education and training programs in the nation. Its clinical and research achievements include developing an antibody that could prevent yeast infections in patients with central lines, identifying a light-response pathway that affects fetal eye development and developing an initiative for whole genomics analysis of patients.
