NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (New York City). NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is the nation's largest and most comprehensive hospitals — with approximately 2,600 beds across six campuses — that helps set the pace for medical research and innovation. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital stems from the 1998 merger of The Presbyterian Hospital and The New York Hospital, which date back to 1868 and 1771, respectively. 

New-ork-Presbyterian-Hospital-factsToday the hospital includes more than 6,000 physicians, and it is an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. U.S. News & World Report ranked NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital first in New York and seventh in the country overall in 2013-14. It holds a spot as one of the top 50 hospitals in the country for 15 adult specialties, including third overall for cardiology and nephrology. Healthgrades also named the hospital as one of the 50 best in the country in 2013 and 2014, along with other awards for excellence in prostate surgery, cardiac surgery and clinical excellence.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is in the midst of a $2 billion capital campaign slated for completion in 2019. The campaign will enhance services and infrastructure at all of the medical center's sites. Also, in 2013, the hospital and Weill Cornell partnered for the creation of the Institute for Precision Medicine, a research hub that recognizes clinical treatments are not "one size fits all" and will drive the development of targeted, individualized care based on patients' genetic profiles.
