Milwaukee-based Ministry Health Care is making cuts to its workforce which could result in hundreds of layoffs, according to a Stevens Point Journal report.

The system plans to cut between 225 and 250 full-time equivalents across the entire system. The cuts will be achieved through layoffs and attrition, according to the report. Ministry Health employs more than 12,000 people.

System leaders attributed the workforce reduction to decreased demand for physician and outpatient services and cuts from the federal sequester.
