KentuckyOne to recruit about 300 nurses: 4 things to know

Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health is hiring about 300 nurses as it looks to address a need for more nursing staff, according to a Louisville Business First report.

Here are four things to know about the health system's hiring effort.

1. The effort is part of a new recruitment campaign, called "We Are One."

2. KentuckyOne launched the campaign to recruit nurses for about 300 open positions, a majority of which will be in the Louisville market. It also hopes to retain its current systemwide nursing staff of about 3,500, said Tanja Oquendo, chief administrative and human resource officer for KentuckyOne, according to the report.

3. KentuckyOne is looking to hire the new nurses by early December.

4. To help accomplish that, the health system is offering incentives such as tuition reimbursement and signing bonuses to new hires, according to Louisville Business First.
