Hospitals Add 4k Jobs in March

The healthcare industry added 19,400 jobs last month, with hospitals adding 4,000 jobs, according to the most recent seasonally adjusted numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Physician offices and home healthcare services added many of those 19,400 healthcare jobs, as employment in those areas rose by 4,400 and 8,500, respectively. Nursing care facilities, on the other hand, lost 5,200 jobs in March.

Job growth in healthcare has averaged 17,000 per month in the last 12 months. Overall employment across all industries rose 192,000 last month.
