The editorial team at Becker's Hospital Review and Becker's ASC Review is currently working on our list of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare," to be published online on May 1, 2011, and in our May/June print issues. Here is a summary of our process for announcing and collecting nominations and deciding which organizations will be selected:
On Nov. 1, 2010, we post our call for nominations on our Becker's Hospital Review and Becker's ASC Review websites. The posting states that nominations will be accepted starting on Nov. 1 and ending on Jan. 31, 2011. We provide a form that allows readers to nominate a "best place to work" and provide information about the organization, including location, type of facility, employee benefits, reasons for the nomination and success stories. Readers can submit this form through e-mail to Rachel Fields at rachel@beckersasc.com. There is no cost to nominate an organization.
We also publicize our call for nominations in our Becker's Hospital Review and Becker's ASC Review e-weeklies, received by thousands of readers.
We collect nominations from readers from Nov. 1 until Jan. 31, at which point the nomination period closes. Once we have compiled all the nominations, our editorial team goes through the nominations and evaluates the organizations on a number of criteria, including employee benefits, employee satisfaction awards or recognitions, success stories from employees and other factors. We select what we determine to be 100 of the best places to work, then compile a list of summaries based on the information contributed during the nomination process.
We publish our list of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" on our Becker's Hospital Review and Becker's ASC Review websites on May 1 and notify each organization on the list of their inclusion. Organizations that make the list have permission to announce this recognition in marketing materials, on their website and any way they choose free of charge.
