Missouri veterans clinic launches telehealth services

A new veterans clinic in St. James, Mo., has begun offering telehealth services to its patients, according to The Rolla Daily News.

By allowing patients to speak with additional physicians in Columbia, Mo., through video consultations, the clinic aims to reduce the need for patients to travel for specialized care. These telehealth services will be free of charge to the patient, since they are covered under basic veterans' healthcare service, according to The Rolla Daily News.

The clinic expects this program to expand with additional technology and staff. The clinic is seeking new employees for telehealth staff positions, according to The Rolla Daily News; these employees will be medical professionals, rather than technology professionals, who will receive specialized training.
