Arkansas Children's Hospital connects with local elementary school

Little Rock-based Arkansas Children's Hospital will begin using virtual healthcare to connect with students from Central Elementary School in Magnolia, Ark., according to Magnolia Reporter.

The program, offered through both Arkansas Children's Hospital and the nonprofit Albemarle Foundation, will enable school nurses to connect with pediatricians at the hospital. The pediatrician will remotely evaluate a child in the nurse's office using electronic communication technology.

The telemedicine program was approved by the Magnolia School Board last week. The board's president, Mike Waters, said that students from any campus will be able to use the program, according to Magnolia Reporter.
