Thirty-one percent of healthcare providers use video-based virtual care services to improve access to care, according to a KPMG survey.
The survey, conducted by HIMSS Analytics, asked 147 C-suite, IT and clinical leaders in healthcare about the maturity of their virtual care initiatives.
Here are five study findings.
1. Early program investments: 28.8 percent
2. Just beginning one or two pilot projects: 45 percent
3. Sustainable virtual care program with decentralized governance: 21.6 percent
4. Sustainable virtual care program with central governance: 18 percent
5. Advanced virtual care program with central governance that supports more than five service lines: 4.5 percent
