Virtua and ROi announce partnership agreement

In a recent press release, ROi was selected as the strategic supply chain partner for South Jersey health care system.

Virtua, one of New Jersey’s largest, non-profit health systems, has signed an agreement with Resource Optimization & Innovation (ROi), a provider-owned supply chain organization, for access to ROi’s comprehensive cost management and supply chain services including strategic contracting and sourcing, utilization management, service line management, clinical and operational consulting, clinical and supply chain analytics, private label products and custom surgical packs. Through the five-year agreement that began July 1, 2017, ROi will serve as the preferred group purchasing organization (GPO) for Virtua.

“This exclusive partnership represents a strategic commitment to align Virtua’s supply chain with a like-minded, provider-based supply chain organization to build on our success of delivering innovative and high performing supply chain services to support patient care,” said Jim Rivard, senior vice president of support services, Virtua. “We set a goal to move away from the traditional GPO model in our industry and transform Virtua’s supply chain into a strategic asset. We needed a partner, an experienced supply chain operator, that could provide breakthrough results, including guaranteed cost savings, in the shortest amount of time, and we have found that partner in ROi.”

“We are honored to be chosen by Virtua as their trusted GPO and comprehensive supply chain partner,” said Greg Firestone, vice president of strategic customer relations, ROi. “Traditional means will not drive the sustainable results needed to support health care systems in today’s challenging environment. Through common goals, together, Virtua and ROi will collaboratively execute on a clinically aligned plan that elevates supply chain performance and drives even greater clinical, financial and operational results for Virtua.”
