Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center earns ultrasound accreditation

Hartford, Conn.-based Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center recently received a three-year ultrasound practice accreditation from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

The Obstetrics-Gynecology Ultrasound Diagnostic Center is the only practice in the Hartford area with accreditation in first, second and third trimester obstetric ultrasound. The center also holds accreditation for adjunct detailed fetal anatomic ultrasound, fetal echocardiography and 3D gynecologic ultrasound.

AIUM ultrasound accreditation entails a voluntary peer review process, allowing practices to prove that they meet or exceed recognized standards in the performance and analysis of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

"Accreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine demonstrates our clinical excellence and commitment to the highest quality patient care when providing diagnostic ultrasound services," said John F. Rodis, MD, MBA, maternal fetal medicine specialist and president of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
