Inova taps Omnicell for supply chain pharmacy services

Inova, a nonprofit health system in Falls Church, Va., will use Omnicell's Performance Center platform to manage its pharmaceutical supply chain.

The Performance Center platform is an integrated software and services offering to help improve pharmacy operations, lower costs and support patient safety.

The platform offers the ability to view and act on medical inventory demand in real time throughout the entire health system, along with mitigation planning for drug shortage and expired medication risk, among other features.

"Our desire is to achieve enterprisewide management of our pharmacy operations," said Melanie Massiah-White, chief pharmacy officer-executive director of Inova. "This includes shared inventory visibility, inventory optimization through relocation of needed medications and leveraging strategic buying opportunities. We look forward to working with Omnicell to achieve these goals."
