FedEx subsidiary offers multi-tenant warehousing solution

GENCO, a Pittsburgh-based logistics provider and FedEx subsidiary, recently developed a new multi-tenant warehousing solution.

The solution, currently available in the U.S. and Canada, allows multiple manufacturers to operate side-by-side in one warehouse, using a designated space with a shared technology platform, according to the report.

The multi-tenant facilities are located in Memphis, Tenn., and Milton, Ontario, Canada, and contain 1,100,000 square feet and 400,000 square feet, respectively. According to GENCO, the facilities offer small and medium-sized manufacturers more sophisticated supply chain solutions typically only used by large-scale customers.

"Due to increasing margin pressures within the healthcare industry, manufacturers of medical devices, diagnostic testing and pharmaceuticals are hyper-focused on streamlining their supply chain and enhancing overall efficiency in order to stay competitive," said Kevin McPherson, GENCO's vice president of healthcare. "This solution allows our customers to focus less on their supply chain and more on developing innovative products and services that improve the cost, quality and availability of patient care."
