Cleveland Clinic, Parker Hannifin partner to create medical devices

Parker Hannifin, a Cleveland-based manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, is working with Cleveland Clinic to develop more than 100 potential medical advancements and developments.

Through the collaboration, Parker Hannifin is contributing its engineering and new product development expertise to be paired with Cleveland Clinic's clinical research abilities. The two companies have already submitted a handful of medical solutions for regulatory approval in Europe and the United States, some which might be ready for a commercial launch in 2015.

"We are addressing physicians' greatest medical challenges in collaboration with the leading minds in healthcare," said Pete Buca, innovation and technology vice president for Parker's fluid connectors group. "With Parker's engineering expertise and valuable insight from Cleveland Clinic doctors and researchers, the potential for innovation to advance patient outcomes is limitless."
