Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System announced the creation of the Geisinger Institute for Advanced Application to foster innovations that will improve healthcare quality and reduce costs.
The institute will initially have three centers: the Center for Healthcare Re-engineering, the Center for Emerging Technology and Informatics and the Center for Clinical Innovation.
GIAA will work with experts in areas such as clinical, research, engineering, innovation, technology, data, informatics, mobile/telehealth, health insurance, strategy, business and finance to develop healthcare solutions. The institute will also work with Geisinger's xG Health Solutions, a company launched in February to share and commercialize the health system's intellectual property.
