New California Hospital to Open in May
A new state-of-the-art Mercy Medical Center is scheduled to open May 2 in Merced, Calif., and is expected to help attract physicians to the area, according to a report by KFSN TV.
The $260-million facility has nearly 200 beds, a family birthing center with an adjacent neonatal intensive care unit, a helipad and a separate outpatient pavilion.
The hospital, the tallest building in the county, is designed to offer a comfortable environment that includes healing gardens and all private rooms, a significant improvement over the overcrowded and outdated hospital it is replacing in South Merced, according to the report.
