Rural Hospital Operator HMC/CAH Emerges From Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
HMC/CAH Consolidated, a critical access hospital operator based in Kansas City, Mo., has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy a little more than one year after it initially filed for reorganization, according to a Yadkin Ripple report.
HMC/CAH, which owns and operates 12 rural hospitals in several states, originally filed for bankruptcy in October 2011.
Larry Arthur, former CEO of HMC/CAH and current CEO of HMC/CAH offshoot Rural Community Hospitals of America, said the hospital group "has significantly reduced its debt and emerged with a sustainable capital structure," according to the report.
