Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center, a 230-bed facility based in Secaucus, N.J., has officially launched its own health plan, according to a Record report.
Meadowlands' plan will offer health coverage to area businesses and residents who live within 10 miles of the hospital and use the hospital and its providers for most of their healthcare needs, according to the report. It will be 25 to 30 percent cheaper than other health plans, as there will be no deductible or out-of-pocket expenses for most visits.
The hospital expects most patients who sign up for the plan will be hourly or part-time workers and municipal employees who don't have health insurance.
