Banner Health Moves to Consolidated Bills for Patients

Banner Health, a 23-hospital health system based in Phoenix, announced it will now offer its patients one billing statement for all outstanding balances from any of its providers.

Patients who receive care at any Banner Health hospital, physician office, home care facility or other provider will receive one consolidated bill and will also have the option of paying all balances from multiple accounts from the consolidated statement.

Betsy Sullivan, vice president of revenue cycle for Banner Health, said in a news release the health system made the switch because patients said "receiving multiple statements from different providers caused confusion and misunderstanding as to what they actually owed. We wanted to streamline this process so they have one bill that's easy to understand without all the paper clutter."
