Schools close in Kentucky county amid flu outbreak

Administrators with Muhlenberg (Ky.) County Schools canceled classes and all student activities for Monday and Tuesday at all schools due to an outbreak of influenza, according to a school alert.

Classes are expected to resume on Wednesday. In the meantime, families of students are encouraged to take necessary precautions to avoid infection.

As of Jan. 28, the CDC has reported 15 pediatric influenza deaths this flu season.
