PCORI provides $54.8M in funding for 33 research projects

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute is providing $54.8 million in funding to support 33 new patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research projects.

The approved proposals include a wide array of studies, including ones that examine ways to improve outcomes for people experiencing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic pain, mental health conditions, nervous system disorders, kidney disease, cancer and multiple chronic conditions. The studies also will compare different approaches to delivering care as well as improving patients' access to care.

The studies are based at institutions in 18 states.
