Patient Safety Toolkit: Improving Diagnostic Testing

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality offers a free toolkit for improving patient safety and quality of diagnostic testing in physicians' offices, clinics and ambulatory care facilities to ensure providers are following best practices for testing protocols.

The toolkit includes resources for assessing office readiness, planning for improvements, assessing current testing processes and measuring patient engagement, as well as a patient engagement survey, chart auditing tools and an electronic health record evaluation tool.
