March Madness is popular time for vasectomies, data shows

Men are more likely to get a vasectomy during March Madness — presumably to use physician-ordered couch time as an excuse to watch the games, according to data from athenaInsight.

In fact, urologists performed 30 percent more vasectomies during the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament than they did during an average week. And more specifically, they performed roughly 41 percent more vasectomies on the Friday of the first weekend of the tournament than on a usual Friday.
