Joint Commission Launches Hand Hygiene Tool for up to 72% Compliance Improvement

The Joint Commission has launched the Targeted Solutions Tool for Hand Hygiene, free for its accredited healthcare organizations.

The tool is a creation of The Joint Commission's nonprofit affiliate, the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare. The tool has been tested internationally and has spurred as much as a 72 percent improvement in hand hygiene practices, according to a news release.

The tool guides healthcare organizations through the collection of baseline data, identification of problem areas and implementation of solutions for tracking hand hygiene compliance, according to the release.
