Johns Hopkins opens $24M specialty practice for infectious disease patients

The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore will open a $24 million facility exclusively for the treatment of patients with infectious disease on May 8.

The 16,000-square-foot John G. Bartlett Specialty Practice — named for the former director of the Hopkins' division of infectious disease — will consolidate infectious disease services and clinicians into one specialty practice. The facility will feature more than two dozen examination rooms and will be staffed by 70 healthcare providers. The new specialty is expected to see approximately 170 patients every day.
