Indiana Hospitals Use Color-Coded Wristbands to Improve Safety
Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Ind., and other hospitals across the state have begun using color-coded wristbands to help prevent potential medical errors, according to a report in the Indianapolis Star. The program followed a recommendation from the Indiana Hospital Association to standardize alert colors to signal different patient conditions.
Standardizing the colors across the state is expected to lower the risk of confusion among providers working at more than one hospital.
